I was given a tip by a girl workin in Peninsula beauty, She told me to use some warm water and rub your hands together so the product isn't so thick and will distribute easier throughout the hair. WONDERFUL TIP. I get some many compliments on my hair when using this product. I have natural waves in my hair and if I don't find the right product my hair doesn't look good. I would not go without this product.

(More customer reviews)After watching my hairstylist finish my hair with this, I decided to buy it from her salon. I like to use it right after I finish washing and styling my hair to tone down the poofiness and smooth out the ends, because my hair is normally poofy right after I wash it. It makes my hair bouncier and makes it noticeably shinier; it definitely does not weigh it down. It's a bit expensive but you only have to use a few drops so it'll last you like a year. My hair is thick and long, so I use 2 small squirts. It has a very subtle but pleasant lavender scent, and it's slippery but not sticky or oily like some other serums. I only give it four stars because on humid days, even though it initially de-poofs my hair, my hair will poof up again in a couple hours. Hey, it never said it could work miracles.

(More customer reviews)I discovered this product at my hairdresser's. I am a 42 year old with a head of thick grey hair that I color and it is also naturally curly. I apply a large amount of the Deva product, probably 2 to 3 scoops. I DO NOT RINSE. Then I apply the Set Up and Above from Deva. This may sound like a lot, but with hair like mine it is necessary. I flip my hair, twist it in sections and blow dry with a diffuser. Talk about curls!!! And it keeps the frizz down too. I would recommend giving this product a try.

(More customer reviews)I love this product for what it does - volumizes. It comes out as foam and then turns more liquidy as you rub it in your hands. You also have to be careful not to put too much in one spot of your hair, because then your hair will look wet and greasy all day. I like to put it underneath my hair, by the roots, and then shake my head while upside down, creating lots of volume. However, I hate that you have to wash your hands afterwards, after applying it to your hair. The smell is fantastic, it makes you hair smell like you just left an Aveda salon!

(More customer reviews)As a curly-haired gal, I have tried my share of products. I have a few that I've liked over the years, but this curl gel is my absolute favorite.
Before this, I had not tried gel because I am not a fan of how crusty it can make curls look. After going through a lot of products, I had been using TIGI Curls Rock and was pretty happy with it. I decided to pick this product up on an impulse because it was so inexpensive and I am always looking for new items to try for my curls. I am glad that I did!
I used it as directed, putting a bunch of gel into my wet hair and then drying it with a diffuser. I found that when my hair is slightly damp, twisting it around my fingers with this product makes it form more of a ringlet curl, which is a fun change. When it is dry, there is no residue or crunchy feeling at all and it holds the curl all day. The only thing is that it doesn't work as well against frizz, but I found that using the Tresemme Tres Two extra hold hairspray fought off any frizz and made sure my curls were defined.
I would definitely buy this product again.

(More customer reviews)I couldn't believe my hair could look so good! My daughter Shelby treated me to a hair appointment at URBAN BLISS in November. My stylist used Curls Rock on my low maintainance cut and I LOVE this product! It goes a long way, only takes a small amount for short hair. One thing I will add to the previous review, my wonderful stylist, Wanda, told me to rub my hands together hard before applying it to my hair and that makes all the difference. if you don't do this it can be stiff and clumpy. also if you wash your hair every other day you can use water in a spray bottle to spritz or even a little water on your fingers and a little heat to refresh it.... even my daughter Kelan who is a staunch Aveda user had to agree that Curls Do Rock!

It was more of a leave in conditioner (they called it a moisture supplement) that gave my hair needed moisture without any greasiness, AND for the most part the ingredients were no cause for concern. I just reordered the product and was VERY disappointed to see that it is now called a 'curl booster and volumizer' and the ingredients read like all the other chemical laden products I was trying to get away from. I was worried this was going to happen. A respectable ingredient list always seems just out of grasp... Sigh. I still gave it a try, and it just makes my hair feel heavy, not greasy, just heavy and not moisturized at all.
