(More customer reviews)This product reminds you of another well known PETROLEUM BASED pomade, Tres Flores (Three Flowers). I purchased this product thinking that I was going to get what the label states "100% PURE AUSTRALIAN BEESWAX". This product, though, is PETROLEUM BASED (petroleum jelly) and has mixed in it the beeswax, so the label is a bit misleading. The product smells good enough to put in your hair, if that's why you are buying it, but if you really wanted 100% Beeswax then this is not what you want to buy. "amazon.com" should list the ingredients to this product so that consumers know exactly what they are buying. I would use this product on my own head, but unfortunately I shave my head and therefore have no real use for it. I gave this product 4 stars for what it is intended for, not because I bought something I don't need.

Fiber Grease Pomade, 7oz (210g) Review

(More customer reviews)This is the best pomade product I've used. This stuff holds. I have the crazy stupid thick Asian hair that doesn't like to do what you want it to do and this stuff will tame that craziness. The best part? It's fully water soluble. I can wash it out with no problems: no residue, no muck, no scrubbing like crazy. And yes, even though it's water soluble, it'll hold all day long.
If you are Asian with short hair on the sides, I don't think it'll matte down your hair (unless you use a lot of this stuff). Maybe Cool Grease XX will do it? I've never used that product from this manufacturer.

(More customer reviews)This product does provide hold. However it is a clear gel-like substance which does not impart moisture or much shine to the hair. I have a short hairstyle which is piecy and chunky and I have been looking for a substitute for Pantene's Pro-v Texturizing Pomade with no real success. This product is ok and provides hold but it dries quickly, which I could not relate to a wax. I will not buy this product again.

(More customer reviews)I have very fine hair but this product works well to separate the layers of my hair to make it look thicker. There are other products that cost a lot more, but I have found Pantene Spray wax to work absolutely fantastic, so have found no need to pay more than I have to. My hair is shoulder length and cut into layers that I blow dry with a round brush to curve it up or under, depending upon my mood that day. My hair is so fine, though, that it would fall into one single flip, the layers hidden. I lift my hair in sections and spray Pantene spray wax in between the layers, and the true cut of my hair comes out! It looks thicker and "modern messy." I love it!

Vonte Silk Effects 4 Oz Review

(More customer reviews)This is undoubtedly the BEST hair straightener I have EVER used- makes my relaxed African-American hair smooth and shiny (kind of like a weave) when used with my flatiron. The only mild drawback is the texture which is like a wax but it easily melts with heat application, almost like beeswax. I comb it through sections of my hair prior to straightening, adding a little Carol's Daughter's Hair balm or Garnier Sleek & Shine straightening serum for slip and rub it in my fingers to melt the wax a bit- THEN i comb it through. If you don't like extra oil on your hair, you should probably just use the Vonte alone or with a silicone-based serum instead of the oil-based one I mentioned. A little goes a long way and if you still use a hot comb it will work wonders also! just ONLY put this in your hair when it is dry and ready to be flatironed/pressed. Also works great for flyaways or as a holding wax for edges!

(More customer reviews)I am a minimalist who wants her mane to be perfect, but also wash and wear. My short fine hair has always had other ideas, and, whatever I did, it would flatten in no time. I don't blow dry for 2 reasons: first, it takes time, and, second, I am a klutz who can't manage a dryer no matter how many times my stylist shows me. But I still want it all: a full head of hair I can tousle or make neat, hair that never feels full of product or dirty, a product that's idiot proof, and something reasonably priced.
Until I discovered FX products, I was paying 3 to 4 times as much for salon products, and I often used the Bumble and Bumble wax. Never again. FXMolding Wax is the best product at any price. It leaves my hair full and clean, and it holds the style I started with while being soft and casual.
My recommendation is to start with a small amount and rub it between your hands, then tousle your hair from roots to tips. I even comb or use a Denman Brush to shape my hair. It dries quickly, and I carry a small container with me in my purse for midday touchups.

Second it has a great hold that still manages to keep your hair pliable so no more of the flaky stiff hair you get from gel. It doesn't have a great smell, it's a stick of styling wax but its styling capabilites more than make up for that.

Rusk Being Primitive Clay 1.8oz Review

(More customer reviews)I've used a number of pomade-like hair products and have always been disappointed in them for one reason or another (typically their resistance to blending smoothly or the rather weak hold). I was skeptical of Being Primitive because of the rather light consistency as compared to other similar products, but I found I quickly found my expectations far surpassed.
Being Primitive is extremely easy to apply (I tried applying it to both damp and dry hair). The product goes in smooth and is easy to spread throughout all of your hair rather than getting stuck with disparate patches mired with gunk. I was able to get my hair the way I wanted it, and had no issues reshaping it into a completely different style.
When I was ready to go back to my normal hair, I found that Being Primitive washed out quickly with just my normal shampoo.
I rated this product 4 stars rather than 5 simply because of the amount of product that it took to style my hair. Other than that, I would highly recommend it.

(More customer reviews)My hair sucks..plain and simple. I have hair that is not straight enough to lay flat or curly enough to look good without products. It just "puffs" out from my head unless it is cut short (1/2-3/4 inches). I need hair products if I want to grow my hair any longer than that. One day I ran out of my "go to" paste (American Crew Citrus Mint) and saw a sales ad for a discontinued product call Biolage Shaping Creme. It figured what the hell since it was %75 off and, even though I never used a Biolage product, I knew it was a good brand. Also, it received stellar reviews from many different users on a bunch of websites. I immediately loved the stuff. It made my hair pliable but without the greasy or wet look, and it smelled fantastic. It simply looked healthy and a little bit thicker which inspired me to grow my hair even longer. The stuff simply never failed no matter how long or short my hair was and no matter how i styled it. That is why I was annoyed that it was being discontinued. However, I found out that Biolage replaced the shaping creme with something called Molding Souffle. SO, I bought the stuff and it is just as good, and even a little but better than the shaping creme. The reason why I say this is that it provided just a tad more hold, which my hair always needs. Now, the only time I use the Citrus mint is when I want the matte push back look or even more control. But even then I will still mix in a little molding souffle. If you are a guy, and want your hair to look better than natural with some control and volume, buy this stuff immediately. I got mine on Ebay or about $12 including shipping.

MANDOM GATSBY PERFECT HOLD WAX MEDIUM HAIR HARD (60G) Review

(More customer reviews)Originally I had purchased this hair product from a small shop in Chinatown in NYC as a temporary solution to running out of styling wax. After the first use, it has become a favorite of mine.
I chose the "medium" strength because I hate having product that turns hair into porcupine needles. At the same time, it has enough hold that people with shorter hair can style and restyle their hair throughout the day and not lose its composure. This product works a lot better than most waxes/pomades that I have used, and I have used many.
Another thing is that it washes out quite easily, unlike other waxes. A quick rinse under the sink (if you're in a hurry) will usually do the trick. It does not leave heavy residue in your hair.
My only complaint is that the product is really only available online or in Asian grocery stores/shops. The price here might be a bit higher than it should be. Nevertheless, I felt it worthwhile to pay for a superior product. 4 out of 5 stars.
