(More customer reviews)I searched high and low for a dual-voltage travel straightener and happened upon this terrific set. I live in Europe and I have already ruined one expensive straightener, so this has been a God-sent. It works just like a CHI should and the bonus bag, products and blowdryer just add to it. The only challenge I had is that the bottle of Iron Guard was bent a bit at the top and when I tried to fix it, I broke the whole top off making it impossible to keep and travel back with so I had to let that one go. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this product and thankful I found it. It has been perfect for my many travels to other European countries.

(More customer reviews)I've been using a Chi iron for 5 years now and I must admit that they get the job done. My problem is that I live in Florida and the weather... well it's not the best weather for straight hair, especially if you're naturally curly. I lost my Chi iron a couple of months ago (the one I've had for years) so I decided to get the same one. We all know they are super expensive, so when I saw the cheap prices of $65 and so on I decided to buy it here. I got it within a couple of days from the day of purchase and it worked wonders... the first two months. I was straightening my hair for a date with my boyfriend when all of a sudden it TURNED OFF!! I figured it had over heated or something so I let it cool down. Nothing. My iron hasn't worked ever since and I have it sitting in my room,completely new, and useless!! I tried to contact the seller but he/she couldn't do anything about it. My recommendation: Make sure it has warranty!!! :P

Also it is cheaper here than at the salon. My overall opinion is that this is a great product to use if you use any hot iron on your hair to keep is smooth and flyaway free! (More customer reviews)I have wavy hair... not super curly or thick, but not straight either, so I don't have a difficult time finding straightening irons that work, but I wanted one that would leave my hair shiny and smooth, and do it quickly, so I started looking at irons that were a bit more expensive than my usual 25 dollar range. I came across a review for this on another site and decided to try it. It straightens my hair quickly, and does leave it very shiny and smooth. The only reason I didn't give it a five was that it claims that it locks out humidity, and for the most part it does, but when humidity here is bad and I walk for a 10-15 minutes, I find my hair not as straight and as smooth as when I left. Overall I would recommend this product.

However I am on my 4th volumizing iron because the plastic casing cannot withstand the heat and the blades come apart over a time. I have tried different epoxies to try and salvage the iron, but once reheated the residue bleeds onto the hair. So I just keep buying new ones. I love the results which cannot be simulated with a flat or curling iron.

(More customer reviews)The half-inch Chi is difficult to find in salons and stores, and this makes me wonder if women think they don't have any straightening and smoothing options since the larger Chi is just too clumsy and won't get to the hairline for those of us who have short styles or are in a growing-out stage. My hairstylist introduced me to this and swore to me it would be worth the money. I have hair that easily gets frizzy and poodle like, but not cute and curly. I'm growing it out; at this time I have a chin-length bob.
The half-inch Chi has never given me any burns, it heats up as quickly as the larger one (I previously had longer hair so I have a full-size Chi), and it can get right against the scalp. I swear I was using this when my hair was less than an inch long on top. It has a dial to adjust the temperature when you only need a little heat to smooth out one or two areas. I really haven't found anything comparable out there for short hair. This is also good for people who tend to burn themselves a lot with the full-sized Chi; this one is easier to handle and even when my hair grows out I will use this one for touch-ups. This is the best hair purchase I have made in a long time.

As I was flat ironing my hair the temperature would decrease, so I thought there was something wrong with my iron. No where did I ever read that this iron would do that. So I thought I was going to have to return it till I went to a friends house who happens to have the same iron. She has short hair and it didn't do that to her, I happened to have long hair and hers did the same thing. Long story short I then realized that this iron just decreases in heat if you are running it through long hair... I still love it though! Just thought you might like to know this info if you have long hair...

If you are using a flat iron it would be better to use the STRAIGHT GAURD and Silk Infusion for total heat protection! Some products out there say they protect but only give a buffer for lower heat settings. The CHI line was specifically made for HIGH HEAT settings of the flat iron.

I started using it about 2 months ago and cannot stand to go without it. Just use a little because it can make your hair look oily if you use too much and don't put it close to the scalp either for the same reason. I tried the Chi Silk Infusion because I thought they would be the same since they are both made by Farouk but the Chi is not nearly as good. I would give this 100 stars I could.

However, when it was first used, the CHI did not maintain temperature and a defective switch was detected. After contacting AM Health & Beauty on a Sunday, they replied within a couple of hours and offered to refund or replace the tool. As we just wanted a replacement, they offered to ship us a new one and enclose a return label so we would not have to pay to return the defective product! Something that is almost unheard of these days. I am very impressed by the service of AM Health & Beauty Service and would recommend them as a preferred dealer!
