Despite several decades of coloring my hair (not since college have I been my natural shade of brown) and mistreating it with both a blow dryer and curling iron, my hairdresser says that I have incredibly healthy and soft hair. With this deeply moisturizing shampoo, I literally never need a conditioner--and I wash my hair every single day. There is a whole line of Mane `N' Tail products that were specifically designed by breeders to groom their horses and ponies, displaying them to their best advantage for competitions. This shampoo is rich in proteins and has never stripped the color out of my hair or caused it to fade. If you have extremely dry, over-processed or damaged hair, you may want to use Mane `N' Tail's Deep Moisturizing formulas. And, did I mention the price? 12 oz. for $4.29 - this should last most people approximately six months. And, though I have never tried this personally, the manufacturer says that it safe and non-irritating for use on both dogs and cats. Now, when I say "non-irritating" that doesn't mean that your pets won't be extremely irritated when you try to give them a bath, just that they won't have an allergic skin reaction to the shampoo. (And, by the way, good luck washing your cat!)
