(More customer reviews)I haven't used more than two of the different kinds of Fekkai shampoo, but this one by far is my favorite. I used it for months before running out, and now I haven't bought it for a while because of finances. But it's horrible going back to the various things I used before!!
My hair is very thin and dry, baby-fine, and mostly straight; but I have enough kinky flyaways (scottish ancestry) that almost all shampoo and conditioner sets make my hair stand up around my head like a frizzed-out Halloween witch wig. I CANNOT use grocery store brands; after more than a couple of uses they dry my hair out so much that hair is literally breaking and snapping as I comb it. So I went through a lot of the more expensive salon brands; before Fekkai, I used Mastey's moisturizing 'Moisturée' shampoo and 'Traité' conditioner which were the best and gentlest I'd ever found in ten years of looking. Mastey won't damage hair, even mine! (Also good as a super gentle sensitive skin face wash.) I am using Mastey again now, and frankly I like Fekkai better and dream of the month that I can return to it. (Soon! Soon!)
This Fekkai for me made my hair feel strong and buttery smooth. After several months of using it however, it feels as if it builds up a little on the hair because it's so thick in moisturizers. One switch back to Mastey for a day fixed that, since Mastey doesn't moisturize as much and tends to leave my hair rather frizzy, and then back to the Fekkai. My hair simply looked and felt better after using Fekkai regularly; this is as far as I can tell, is the best shampoo out there, after many trials of various other shampoo/conditioners (including Pureology, Sebastian, Mane n Tail, Avalon Organics which I did like, and a nice lavender scented super-natural shampoo I got from Trader Joe's that actually worked ok for a while, among the other dozens of things I've tried).
Fekkai also smells wonderful, and you really don't need much to wash. That was the thing I liked best, oddly enough. Mastey takes for me a whole full palm-full of shampoo, it takes more Mastey to do the same job of cleaning than any other shampoo I have ever used. Fekkai on the other hand takes me a tiny little dime-sized spot, and cleans more efficiently. It's like concentrate shampoo, so the tiny bottle goes a really long way. My itty bitty Fekkai bottle lasted longer than my big bulky Mastey bottle used to.
