A few months ago, I was completely platinum blonde after getting a full head foil. I knew I needed to reconstruct my hair, after the damage that constistent lightening does to the hair. I bought the entire Redken Extreme line (which deposits protein into protein-depleted (lightened) hair) and did their protein treatments every week. My hair got stronger, but I noticed it had gotten very dry and brittle. I assumed these were still signs of damage from the bleach, so I continued using every product I could to put protein back into my hair. Little did I know, that my hair had MORE than enough protein, and the extra protein was causing my hair to become hard, dry, and extremely brittle. I stopped combing my hair once it was dry, because even the slightest pressure from the comb would break my hair off, mid-strand. I couldn't understand what was wrong. Then, one of my teachers told me that I definitely needed to put MOISTURE back into my hair, and no more PROTEIN. So, I tried this Pureology mask, and instantly fell in LOVE with it. My hair feels completely different. I can run my fingers through it without having to worry about the ends snapping off. It feels like completely different hair: soft, shiny, and healthy. And all this, after just one use. I can't wait to see the changes after I've continually used it. I also bought the "Shine Max" from this line, and I love it too. So, my advice to all the blondes out there would be this: Don't confuse dryness with bleach damage. If you have trouble combing through your hair when it's wet, (if it knots and tangles up quickly) that's a sign of a lack of protein. If your hair feels extrmely brittle and fragile when it's dry, you definitely need MOISTURE and NOT PROTEIN. And if you've reached that point, you should absolutely try this masque, and the entire Pureology Hydrate line of prodcuts.
