(More customer reviews)I am African-American and after the birth of my first child my hair texture changed from kinky to curly. I no longer use a relaxer and most of the hair products I had worked beautifully on my old texture but did not work at all for my new texture.
I looked for new hair products I tried Frederick Fakkai, a few drugstore lines like Pantene and Garnier and a couple of salon lines Rusk and Paul Mitchell but none really worked well on my hair. A friend suggested trying Hamadi.
I really like this line - I use the Ginger Soymilk Shampoo, Rice Milk Conditioner and the Leave-in Conditioner. I find that this combination works best for my hair.
The Ginger Soymilk Hair Wash is gentle and I find that i get less tangles when shampooing and it rinses clean; my hair began to feel a little stripped over time until I added the Rice Milk Conditioner to my routine. Initially I used the Ginger Soymilk hair wash and the leave in conditioner adding a step worked better for me but also increased the cost.
It is hard for me to find good products that work well on my hair texture and are also reasonably priced. As much as I like these products I am subtracting one star for the price. These products are pricey and if you are like me and have long hair they can become very costly over time; although I no longer have to pay for a relaxer every 6 - 8 weeks I don't expect hair products to cost as me as much as the regular expensive chemical treatments that I no longer need. This shampoo in an upscale store or salon costs approximately $3.50 an ounce; on Amazon or through other discount vendors you may find it cheaper.
This line is great if you can afford it; hopefully someone will come out with something just as good that is not so expensive.
