(More customer reviews)I had somehow developed a strange waxy buildup in my hair that I couldn't get out with other shampoos. My best guess is that it was a combination of cream rinse and shampoo that didn't play well together, but once it was there, it was almost as if I'd been using a pomade or something and I couldn't figure out how to get rid of the waxy buildup in my hair.
I first tried quitting the cream rinse and then switching up the shampoos, but there was always this waxy residue that nothing seemed to get rid of.
Until this. It's pricey and I don't especially like the smell (like baby powder on steroids to me), but it could be worse. And wow, it was just what I needed.
A month later: Okay, I just really like this shampoo (except for the smell, which I guess I'm getting used to). It leaves my long hair consistently gorgeous... I wish I could explain better what I mean. My hair seems very smooth and manageable and healthy whereas normally, I tend to have a kind of too full / too frizzy issue to deal with. This is more like my younger hair, when I didn't have to think about any of this so much.
Also, FWIW, I've realized that you don't need to use as much of this shampoo as most shampoos, which mitigates the price.
My hair and I are hooked. :-)
Update: My first bottle came from the grocery store and then I just ordered this from Amazon. First, it IS three bottles, so they fixed the problem noted by some reviewers. Second, with Subscribe & Save, the price is in the ballpark of half what it costs in the grocery store. Third, it still smells. :-)
Update, March 2011: FYI that the current price is twice what I used to pay. This was six dollars for a 12 oz. bottle, and was a deal at that price (compared to the grocery store). Now, meh.
