My husband and I have been trying all sorts of brands of styling pomade for his hair since the company that made the last one he liked stopped making it.
So far, this one comes the closest. He has fine, thick hair that needs to look professional while he's at work. Styling gels are great in the beginning of the day, but by the end of the day they are flaky, and I hate running my fingers through his hair and feeling how dry it is. A lot of the sculpting muds add too much texture. He has a lot of hair, making it bigger isn't what he wants.
This is more like VO5 but without that characteristic VO5 smell. This has a light herbal scent that isn't noticeable and that doesn't clash with his cologne. He can groom his hair back and doesn't wind up with flakes or dry hair. It's not a super hold sort of product. If he needs to comb his hair later in the day, he can. It won't remove all of this.
His hair is very soft since he's been using this. I think it's somewhat conditioning because on weekends when he just lets it go natural, his hair seems to be in just wonderful shape.
A little pricey, and if you don't like slightly oily looks, this isn't the product for you. But if you have just a plain old fashioned hair cut, and the right kind of hair to just sleek back, it's very good for that. A little jar goes a long way. Like with the VO5, it only takes a little bit rubbed between your palms.
