(More customer reviews)I love this product!! I've been using it for years. For my hair, which is naturally very curly, medium/dark brown, the Persian Medium Brown/Chestnut works perfectly. It gives me a deep, rich brown with subtle reddish highlights in the sun. It is also such a great conditioner which makes my hair soft and super shiny. I know some folks like to buy henna and indigo from an Indian market, claiming it's more pure and fresher, but I find the Rainbow brand to be an all-in-one (indigo is mixed in already), inexpensive solution. If you're concerned about it being fresh, you're probably better off ordering it directly from Rainbow (or Amazon?) rather than buying it at a store where you have no idea how long it's been on the shelf. For other reviewers who said they hated this product... it was messy, smelled, did nothing... well, I say to that -- HENNA IS NOT FOR YOU!! Henna is natural. It's a powder derived from a plant, so it's not going to smell like perfume and simply squeeze out of a bottle onto your hair. And to say it does nothing? Read the directions and leave it on your hair!! It is incredibly powerful if applied correctly. Hard to believe that it could do absolutely nothing! You have to mix it with your ingredients of choice... there are many recipes out there (I only add lemon juice or apple cider vinegar). You have to cover your hands (as with all other home hair-dyes). You should wear an old t-shirt or salon cape as henna does stain (as with all other home hair-dyes). Cover your sink with a couple sheets of plastic wrap for quick clean up. And rub a protective layer of cream on your skin around your hairline (I use Aquaphor) to prevent staining your skin. Use a plastic cap (and if you like a conditioning cap over that to excel the process with natural body heat) and wait for your beautiful results (for me 3 hours works just fine). Yes, it's a process, but so is dying you hair with a box dye from the drug store, and that's filled with scary chemicals!! I love the Henna process for hair. I find the smell to be interesting and natural. I like that that it covers grays well and easily lasts for 6 weeks (for me). And I LOVE that it's natural and non-damaging like those drying box dyes. I'll use Rainbow Brand Henna till they stop making it!!!!!! Thanks for reading and hope it helped you in anyway.
