(More customer reviews)I have very fine hair that is prone to damage and split ends. I also color or highlight my hair every 2-3 months. Dry at the tips but with a tendency to get oily at the roots quickly. Living in hot humid Florida and dealing with sun damage on a daily basis, I have been searching for a good product that is NOT greasy, will protect my hair from damage (or at least lower the amount of damage) and hydrate without weighing my fine hair down in our heavy humidity.
Based on reviews at the Amazon's 3rd party merchant "Sephora's" website, I bit the bullet and asked for a sample of this Phyto 9 and immediately noted a difference in my hair. As directly, I applied a pea sized amount directly after my shower focusing 1st at the tips and then halfway up the shaft of hair. The little bit left on my hand I simply wiped onto the surface of my hair to the roots. My thoughts? 1: not greasy. 2: a tiny amount goes a LONG way. 3: No obnoxious scent to battle other hair product scents or my perfume (a nice scent can be pleasant but keep in mind that scented products limit what other scents you can wear so I am pleased that the Phyto 9 is not scented)
Last, I used my ionized hair dryer on low heat and noticed that the my hair felt lightweight, soft and finished with a gorgeous shine that accompanies healthy hair. Tips did not look dry, awesome! My hair does not go limp even with our humidity and each time I use it, I honestly feel that my hair looks healthier and is showing less damage. After the sample ran out, I did purchase the professional size of 5 oz and after just a couple of weeks of use I am VERY happy. The price tag seems average considering how far it goes and that it does as promised for my hair. The professional size of 5 oz vrs this 1.7 oz bottle is a better price per ounce.
PROS:
* Non-greasy yet hydrating. Softens hair, protects against damage and leaves a gorgeous shine.
* Lightweight. Can be applied after a shower and anytime needed on dry tips.
* Non-scented. Good thing in this case.
* Long lasting yet does not cause hair to go limp.
CONS:
* To date, none. I am very satisfied after using the sample and have purchased the 5oz professional sized version which is a much better price per ounce if you shop around. This 1.7 oz is a little bit high in price, although still worth it in my opinion. Only time will tell (as with my hairdresser I'm sure when I go to have my hair trimmed next) but after 2 weeks, I would feel safe in recommending this product to anyone who colors their hair or experience dry hair.
