I'm a normal Pantene user, this shampoo was recommended as being the gentlest for colors after I complained to my hairdresser about not being able to find a good shampoo for saving red (tried John Freida & Redken). It has definitely worked well, it gets my hair nice and clean without stripping any color. I'm about 4 weeks into color, and the red has only slightly faded (vs. the others stripping the color within 2 weeks). Only complaints are that I feel like I have to use more than normal to get a nice foam, and of course the price. But not knowing of a comparable store brand, the trade off was worth it.
