(More customer reviews)Although the smell is stronger than I would like, it is not as bad as one reviewer wrote and it does not smell like a cleaning product. It is almost entirely essential oils and essential oils have a strong smell. One of the ingredients is geranium oil and I happen to hate the smell of geranium oil. The overall smell of this serum is a blend of citrus and strong florals. BUT my boyfriend really liked the smell. He didn't pick up as much of the floral notes as I did and he thought it smelled lemony and clean. The smell does dissipate after a while.
As far as everything else- this product is VERY lightweight, it gave my hair incredible shine, and I could apply it two or three times a day and never overdo it. My hair drank this stuff up. It absorbs really well. In the month or two that I used this serum the condition of my normally frizzy and fine Dominican hair improved. Now that I have been using plain jojoba oil instead I realize what a good product this serum is. It makes all the difference in the moisture of the hair- minus the over-greased factor. I hate it when one little drop of another oil can mean an entire head of hair ruined and turned into a greasy, gooey mess. I LOVE serums, lotions, creams, potions, and anything else in the name of beauty- so I love that I can reapply this 4 times a day.
I wouldn't give this product 4 stars instead of 5 due to the smell factor because those of us that know- KNOW- that oh so many things we put in our hair is stinky. While it's a shame that my quest for shiny, frizz free locks includes smelly keratin treatments and relaxers- I know that I must deal with the funk for a rewarding end product. Since this doesn't smell nearly as bad as the keratin treatments I have to sport for 72 hours- I will more than gladly deal with the smell of geranium.
