The box recommends boiling water, but the hassle isn't required. The treatment lasts only a minute and needs to be washed out immediately, so you don't need to sit around with a thick hair mask like you do with some other products. I wouldn't order this product from Amazon; they charge around $9 for two tubes, including shipping. At my local supermarket, two tubes cost $4. Buy this product locally and save!
